Finding weather for your general area…
Automatically detects an approximate city from your network. Optional GPS improves accuracy; no precise address is shown or saved.
From your first overnight to your next long-distance trek, TrailBound keeps the details in one place so you can spend less time planning and more time outside.
Thoughtful starting points for your next adventure. Always check official sources for up-to-date conditions and restrictions.
Choose any U.S. state and browse named hiking trails A–Z using live USGS map references when available. State park listings use USGS PAD-US. Canada and Mexico have region directories; full trail imports are still pending. The reference datasets are incomplete, and neither legal access nor camping, water, or closures are verified.
Connecting to expanded trail index…
Browse trails contributed by hikers in the country and state selected above. All public submissions are screened by the TrailBound team, but details still need independent checking.
Choose a state above to see shared trails.
Free TrailBound account and verified email required; approval is not automatic. Share only trails you have permission to describe. Never include your home address, private access points, sensitive sites, or GPS details that could endanger others. This is not an official trail register.
State park and recreation land names are queried from USGS PAD-US 4.1. Some park names are missing or outdated; this is a reference index, not a complete official state park register. Check managing agencies for operating hours, closures, permits, and legal camping.
Select a U.S. state to load mapped state park and recreation lands.
Source: USGS Protected Areas Database. A park appearing here does not prove it is open or has hiking/camping. More official state sources must be reconciled for full coverage.
Map-based trail records: © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Coverage is incomplete and changes over time. See the original source and check the relevant land manager before visiting.
These five are sample TrailBound listings, not the full state directory. For other trails, use the A–Z state search above.
No generic one-size-fits-all list. Tell us about your trip and get a checklist that actually makes sense.
*Weight figures are rough planning estimates, not weighed equipment. They may include worn clothing. Food, water, and fuel needs vary substantially. Check real gear weights, current weather, local food-storage rules, and water availability before every trip.
Track the gear you already own and its actual weight. Your pack builder uses these numbers when an item matches.
Make your packing lists more accurate.
Tip: check the manufacturer's label or weigh your own item. You can keep more than one version of a gear type.
Save a checklist, pick up where you left off, and export your gear plan before heading out.

Weather automatically shows conditions for each visitor’s approximate city or area. No GPS permission is required for the general forecast. Use optional device GPS to improve location accuracy. Forecasts are not specific to a selected trail.
Approximate city-level location · network/IP
This is weather for your current city/area—not a chosen trail. An approximate location is inferred using your network/IP and sent to weather services. GPS is optional and requires your permission; coordinates are not stored in your account.

Weather from NWS in the U.S. and MET Norway model forecasts globally.
Report a fallen tree, campsite issue, flooding, muddy access, or water-source change. Reports are held for moderator approval before appearing to other visitors.
